Wrong Gender, Wrong Country

Becoming a mother, assuming you’re married,  is the one thing a woman can do without deserving criticism.
Unless, of course, you’re Mexican.
As immigration numbers decline and crime in Southern States drops the threat of hispanic immigrants being perceived as human begins to grow. Thankfully, America is still overun with old white Republicans capable of keeping the fear and hate bubbling over. Step forward Senator Lindsey Graham:
“We should change our Constitution and say if you come here illegally and you have a child, that child’s automatically not a citizen. They come here to drop a child — it’s called ‘drop and leave.’ … That attracts people here for all the wrong reasons.”
It might seem strange to think of human beings referring to the birth of their child as a “drop and leave” ploy but there is a very plausible answer for that: They’re foreigners.
Naturally, if there’s one thing which can be regarded as the antithesis of America and all it stands for the answer surely is immigration. The head of one anti-immigration group in Virginia certainly thinks so, calling for an investigation into “whether or not illegal aliens have a breeding season”.
The super clever part is the fabulous use of the word “drop”. People don’t drop babies so it’s a quick and easy route to dehumanising Mexicans! All you have to do is change the language and ping! They aren’t really people anymore.
Texas Republican Representative Ron Paul says,
“Awarding automatic citizenship to children born here minutes after their mothers illegally cross the border” is “a matter of national security.”
Mr Paul isn’t fighting to change the Constitution. Mr Paul just wants to hitch up the  fear among Americans. And once all his nonsense has achieved the desired effect, what’s gonna happen to his campaign to stop the terror babies?
Mr Paul will drop it.
